This is a one-of-a kind museum quality hand sewn wool blanket that is woven with rich brown, blue and black threads. There is a remarkable letter sewn into the rug, which I've shown/featured here that outlines the provenance of this remarkable antique. The letter, written in 1939, appears quite authentic both in terms of the quality of the paper, the penmanship, and the language that the owner gives stating that. These coverlids or spreads are fully 100 years old, and may be 125 yrs old. The blue & white and blue & black my grandmother Rebecca Finley or Finlay Smith dyed this blue in them or had it done and they are woven by hand.
This is true so far as as I know. Please review photos carefully as there are a few fibers that have been pulled, but not ripped over the years.
